Self Portrait (2017)

This was my summer project for University. It was my first real attempt at achieving a photo-realistic likeness. All of the base modelling was done in Zbrush, with some topology clean-up in maya. For the textures and displacement maps I used Mari, which took some learning and getting used to but definitely worth it for the Hi-Res maps that you can get. The hair groom was done using Xgen. It was the first time that I had taken a model past the sculpting phase, which meant i had to learn alot about shader development, especially for the skin. Rendered with arnold. I learned alot through this project, definitely a step up from my previous projects. There are some things that need improvement but that will come with the next project.
